Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions govern Belmont Baptist Church's services, including registration for our children's programs and our optional SMS text messaging. By registering a child or opting in to text messages, you agree to these terms.
Programs & registration
These terms apply to every children's ministry program and event we run, including Awana (our Wednesday evening children's program), Vacation Bible School, and BBC Kids. When you register a child, please give accurate information and keep emergency and health details current — we rely on them to care for your child. We use that information to run our programs and to communicate with your family, as described in our Privacy Policy. Programs are provided at no charge unless stated otherwise; where a program includes an optional paid element, such as a Wednesday evening meal, the price is shown at sign-up.
SMS / text messaging terms
Opt-in and consent
Text enrollment is voluntary. You opt in by ticking the SMS-consent box on the registration form for the children's ministry program you are signing up for — the current one is at belmontbaptistchurch.com/awana/register.html, and all of our forms are listed at belmontbaptistchurch.com/text-alerts.html — by ticking the same box on the paper registration form, or by giving consent directly to a staff member. The box is never pre-ticked. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of registering for or participating in any program. Consenting once covers texts about all of our children's ministry programs and events, and replying STOP stops them all.
Types of messages
Check-in and pickup notifications for your child, schedule updates, weather and safety alerts, event reminders, and ministry updates for Awana, Vacation Bible School, BBC Kids, and other children's ministry events. We do not send marketing, advertising, or fundraising texts.
Message frequency
Frequency varies by program. For Awana, expect roughly 1–3 messages on a Wednesday your child attends. During VBS week the volume is higher — typically a few messages per day at most. Outside those times, messages are occasional.
Rates, opting out, and help
Message and data rates may apply. Your wireless carrier's standard rates apply to messages you send and receive. To stop, reply STOP to any message — we send one confirmation and then stop texting that number. Reply START, or ask a staff member, to rejoin. Reply HELP for help, or contact the church office using the details below. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No sharing of mobile information
Mobile numbers go only to our messaging provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of transmitting the messages described above.
Acceptable use
Please use our services lawfully. Do not misuse or disrupt them, do not attempt unauthorized access to our systems, and keep any credentials we give you to yourself.
Disclaimers
Our services are provided "as is." We cannot guarantee that every message arrives on time or that every detail is accurate, as some factors are outside our control.
Limitation of liability
Belmont Baptist Church is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of these services, including undelivered messages or carrier charges.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy governs how we collect and use information. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms appear on this page with a revised date. Continuing to use our services means you accept them.
